My how she's grown?

Did anyone catch litttle lady Dakota Fanning promoting the Twilight sequel 'New Moon' on Ellen today? I gotta hand it to her, the girls got taste as she rocked out in her Balmain 09 statement MJ inspired jacket and new season Chanel Jade nailpolish.

Dare I say we have a little style icon in the making? Check out the interview here ...

Unseen TV @ the 2009 Emirates Melbourne Cup

Big love to Unseen TV for opportunity to film this segment at the 2009 Emirates Melbourne Cup!

Why 'what to wear on piste' doesn't mean your attire after a few cocktails!

For someone who had never been to the snow before, let alone paid attention to snow-fashion, you can imagine my panic earlier this year, when faced with a ski wear sale, only moments after being surprised with a trip to Hotham.

Now, for those who need to play catch-up, I'm the sort of girl who will catch a cab home if I dont feel happy in my threads. I have been known to leave the odd surprise birthday to get changed, hey - 'its my party and I'll cry if I want to', as they say. Boo hoo, anyway - back to my dilemma.

Does one go candy coloured and cutesy? Or stick with the Melbourne Fashionista fail-safe of black, while on piste? Thank heavens for 2009 technology, as I readily tapped into my iPhone, googling pics of Kate Moss and Victoria Beckham on the slopes.

After much investigation, black seemed to be the way to go - a better investment for fashion longevity at least.

Now, if I can just arrange for some Chanel ski's, I'm set!

A little birdy told me ....

So anyone strolling past their local Gripp Jeans Store would have noticed a very glamorous change to their stock, and according to my sources (I'll never tell...) its all thanks to their new designer - who just happened to be poached from Bettina Liano!

I thought their new season looked familiar - find Pagoda statement shoulders, cut out dresses, silk harem pants and the most devine Chloe inspired sheer blouses to drool over.

Unfortunately their price point has also gone up to that of BL. I guess some things just cant stay the same.
Gripp - pieces to love, your Visa card however will not.

Watch the Rachel Zoe Project Season 2, Ep 1 here!

I woke up this morning in a very blah mood. Who eats all the cereal and leaves the empty box in the pantry anyway?

This however, put a smile on my face. A very much anticipated return to our screens - The Rachel Zoe Project, Season 2.

Enjoy Episode 1, part 1 here!

Separated at Birth?

Ok, so one of these is a freak, and the other is ... um ... Marilyn Manson. Now I do believe, that when the end of the world comes, the only beings to survive will be the cockroaches and Donatella Versace (hey, all that botox and silicone has practically embalmed the woman), so its no surprise to me that her offspring is a little .. ahh .. kooky?

Seriously though, coming from Fashion Royalty, dont you think someone could have volunteered to help the poor little lamb when it came to putting this look together?

Allegra, call a stylist immediately, cos there can only be one Marilyn Manson, and quite frankly, thats one too many.

Go Bananas over 'The Zoe Report'

When checking my email this morning I wondered if my birthday had come early this year?

No, (its 1st Sept however, for those of you who wish to forward on gifts, lol) it was just a welcome email from, advising that her daily email 'The Zoe Report' was coming my way!

Buzzing with excitement, I see she'll be chatting about her current obsessions and various sample sales, although I worry her 'style' will become mainstream with the amount of fans I expect will be reading this. You can kiss goodbye to those days when your favourite vintage clothing store was well stocked, with every 12 year old Supre shopper discovering it first. (and please, no offence to Supre, I do love your store)

However it is my job to spread the fashion love, so sign up now!

Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down

OMG my latest obsession if I had $375USD ($480AUD) to burn? Hermes (pronounced Er-mez) Silk Scarves. Hey, if its good enough for Anna Wintour, its good enough for moi. Tie on to your handbag, around your wrist, your neck or even over your hair as you step into that convertible, after all - nothings worse than spending precious time with the GHD only to have your 'do' wrecked with a 5 min trip to the local 7-Eleven. Drool over this one ....

A good influence?

Being a lover of all books 'coffee table', I just HAD to get my hands on 'Influence' - the photographic journal/talent biography by that stylish duo, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. How can 2 girls get it so right? Unpretentious, quirky and talented, reading this book just upped my respect and admiration for the twosome. Forget long monologues about how fabulous they are, they simply showcase the amazing talent they've been lucky enough to work with or be inspired by, with a few tidbits about themselves thrown in here and there. I've had this for a few months now and every time I pick it up I find a new page to admire and inspire. A must have.

Masterchef Spoiler! Dont click here if you dont want to know!

Its time to go .....

A certain Masterchef certainly isnt trying to hide his departure from the show, after being seen enjoying the free alcohol Melbourne bar 'La Di Da' had to offer last night. It seems fame has gone to his head a little, as punters were overheard discussing his uncool rockstar attitude.

Dont click here if you dont want to know who it is!

Ex BFF's Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Richie are at it again!

Insiders are aware that Miss Lindsay and Nicole Richie are no longer BFF's - and its no thanks to arch frenemy, Paris Hilton. A few months after baby Harlow was born, Nicole's fiance Joel Madden was DJing at a local club, apparently getting cozy with Li-Lo, while Nic was left at home holding the baby. Miss Hilton witnessed this and was suddenly super keen to drop her old mate Nicole a text message, stating, 'Lindsay was all over Joel, he was so zeroed in on Lindsay, he never heard his cell ring', which of course infuriated young Nic.

Fast forward almost a year later - and we all know that Linds has been desperate to get things back on track with her lady-love, DJ Samantha Ronson. Poor bunny has been showing up at every event on Sam's social calendar, in the hopes of reigniting their romance - and for a while it looked like her plan had worked. Only now Nicole is hanging with Samantha, inviting her to every Hollywood shin-dig known to man, with the only pre-requisite that she dont bring her flame haired lover along. Poor Fire-Crotch has been kicked to the curb and she's not happy about it. Get ready for a true Hollywood-style meltdown!

One day she's wearing an engagement ring, the next she's being dumped and an AVO taken out against her. Whats next in the soap opera that is Lindsay Lohan? Stay tuned folks!

So this is what Mischa has been up to!

So this is what Mischa Barton has been up to of late, apart from wearing what looked like a disgusting dead bird on her head a few months back. This wannabe fashionista has just launched her new line of handbags, and as you can see, she has channelled her inner 'Marianne Faithful' look for the shoot.

The collection, which can be found on is full of rich tapestry prints, snakeskin, studded leather details and bohemian styled fringing. My favourite? The Lyla clutch in purple ... check it out ...

On a side note, a little birdie (and no, not the one last seen on her head) told me that Miss Barton is starring in a new television series yet to hit our shores, named 'The Beautiful Life' - produced by Ashton Kutcher no less. (and who said hooking up with a well connected cougar didnt work out for him?) The often style challenged starlet plays supermodel Sonja Stone.

Patsy & Eddie! Please save Lacroix!

It's a sad, sad moment for all lovers of fine couture! Beloved designer to the stars, Mr Christian Lacroix has apparently filed for bankruptcy! Some call it the end of an era, however those in this know have seen this coming for some time. According to the Wall Street Journal, Lacroix posted a loss of over $14 million in the last financial year!

Is another piece of fashion history leaving us? Not if a buyer steps in and saves the day! Patsy and Eddie - where are you now?

On an interesting note, US label Mike & Chris - who are most well known for their fabulous take on the leather bomber jacket, are also apparently doing it tough in this economic climate.

Sad times indeed.

I cant stress enough at how everyone must rush out immediately and buy the new Ladyhawke album. I admit, driving along the freeway today, I was busted singing along to this at the top of my lungs by some old guy in a 4WD, who waved and smiled. If you're reading this, I'm sorry I cut you off. You seemed very nice.

If you're like me and you like to dance around the house while you're getting ready to go out, turn up the volume on tracks such as 'Another Runaway', 'My Delirium', 'Dusk till Dawn' and 'Paris is Burning'.

I've decided that I'm going to marry Ladyhawke so she can sing to me all day, every day. We'll sit in a field and pick strawberries and live on champagne. Oh Ladyhawke, you rock.

Dont click here if you get jealous easily!

If only we could all be supermodel/rock royalty with an endless supply of A-grade killer vintage. blahhhhh. Can you imagine Naomi Campbell being taken aback by your outfit? double blahhhhh. I think Amber LeBon stole my life.

Nicole Richie and Rachel Zoe reunion. There is a God.

So anyone worth their Jimmy Choo's will have been aware of the rift between these 2 papparazi loving fashionistas. With one posting vicious suggestions on her myspace about a rumoured eating disorder - clearly the twosome have kissed and made up.

Thank the Lord, because I just love this pair, in fact sometimes I cant tell them apart.
Unlike Mischa Barton, who fell off the style wagon once she dropped Zoe as her stylist, Nicole just got better and better. Note to Mischa, pick up that phone immediately and call Miss RZ. She's there to help you. She cares. God, please do something, cos I cant stand looking at you right now.

Ga Ga for Nicole Richie

Check out the latest Nicole Richie shoot for Black Book Magazine. Dressed as Lady Ga Ga, I think she pulls the look off better than LGG herself. Who cares, as long as I dont have to see any vagina.

Note to LGG - put some pants on Woman! Nobody wants to see your Cha Cha!

Balmain S/S 09 = Droooooool

If you've been living under a rock these last few months you wont be aware that Balmain has created the most covertable collection on the runway this season! French designer Christophe Decarnin has brought the fashion pack to its knees with massive structured shoulderpads and acid wash jeans. Bling is back!
Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie.
Click on this link to find Balmain
... and try not to drool over the keyboard while you're at it!

I die!

If 'I die' over the Rachel Zoe Project Season 2, then I'm officially dead over the thought of the woman coming to Australia. Why or where she'll be is anyones guess. Although I plan on her and I becoming BFF's and lending me her entire wardrobe, lol.

Check out her facebook fanpage

and her twitter

And yes, in answer to that next question, they're the real deal!

Is having a Hello Kitty obsession wrong after 30?

If you ask me, then the answer is no, but these days I'm feeling a little sheepish at the thought of pulling out my Hello Kitty notebook and jotting down ideas using my Hello Kitty pen. I even have a Hello Kitty cushion in the backseat of my car. I wonder if i would get laughed at driving down Chapel Street in this?

Thank God for Mac Cosmetics and their tribute to HK ... check out their latest range at

Worst Eyebrow Pencil EVER.

After reading how amazing this new product was, I trotted off to DJ's to pick up a Chanel Long Lasting Eyebrow Pencil 'Stylo Sourcils Waterproof'. $49 later, I found it to be the worst, most waxy pencil ever - it shifts on the skin, doesnt show colour in some places, and the sharpener on the end only causes the pencil to break, over and over (and doesnt sharpen either). A week after purchasing it, I was down to the very end of the pencil, and to be honest, I was kinda glad, as it was horrible. Still, at $49 (and being a 'high end' cosmetic) I expected more.

I feel like Im a bit of a connaisseur when it comes to brow pencils now - originally I used a 'She Umera' one, but it was an actual pencil and I got sick of sharpening it all the time. So I switched to a Kevin Aucoin from Mecca, quite similar in style to Chanel - as far as the fact that it twists up, but was much better quality than Chanel. Just a little dark though. Is it too much to ask to find the perfect twistie brow pencil for my hard earned dollars?

All I know is that I'm incredibly disappointed. Shame on you Chanel.

Drool over this. Also known as Hint to Significant Other, READ ME

OMG my latest obsession if I had $500 (well, $530 actually) to burn? Hermes (pronounced Er-mez) Silk Scarves. Hey, if its good enough for Anna Wintour, its good enough for moi.

Tie on to your handbag, around your wrist, your neck or even over your hair as you step into that convertible, after all - nothings worse than spending precious time with the GHD only to have your 'do' wrecked with a 5 min trip to the local 7-Eleven.

Drool over this one ....

Dreaming of Dark Digits

so i know im 12 months late but im totally obsessing over dark nailpolish. I'd say black, but to be honest i prefer when the look isnt a flat black, more of a deep grape or rouge noir reflect for the first 2 layers, then turns to black. i think chanel started the trend with vamp, but it never took off as much as it did last season, with starlets like lindsay and mischa sporting dark digits. This look doesnt work north of Sydney however - I guess thats what I love about Melbourne. You can sport an all black look and not be considered emo.

my pick? OPI in Lincoln Park After Dark. discovered after admiring the nails of a fellow coffee drinker at a cafe on Chapel St. She was even so kind as to pull some out of her handbag and let me try it on. Bless.
